Bearsden Cross Church - About us

Church of Scotland logoWelcome to 'Bearsden Cross Church'

We are a Church of Scotland Parish in Bearsden and would welcome a visit to our services - Sunday 10.30 a.m.

If you are a newcomer to the area we would invite you to introduce yourself to the minister at the door of the church at the close of service, or to any office-bearer.

The church is fitted with an induction loop system. If you have a hearing aid with a switch for use with a telephone, it will work with the induction loop. Please note that our gallery has not been included within the scope of the system.

Anyone wishing to contact the Minister can see him at the church door or in the Vestry after the service, or should phone him at the Manse (942 0507).

Large print copies of Hymn Books are available.

After some years of planning, a formal union of the congregations of Bearsden North and South Churches established the new Bearsden Cross Parish Church at a special Presbytery service on November 29th 2006.

A history of Bearsden South Parish Church was published in 1991 and an edited version is available (334kb PDF). A short outline of the history of Bearsden North Parish Church is also available (613kb PDF).

The Lord's Prayer - Bearsden Cross Version

In the Cross Church we have produced our own version of the Lord's Prayer because we believe that it is an important guide for both worship and Christian living and that it needs to be readily understood. For more details see the notes (17kb PDF) on this version.

Our Father in heaven, may your name be held as holy.
May your kingdom come and your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread
and forgive us the wrong we have done,
as we forgive those who have wronged us.
Keep us from temptation and protect us from all evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours,
now and forever, Amen.
